Born in Chiba, Japan, in 1982, Rokkaku is largely self-taught. She began painting in the early 2000s and attracted attention through live-painting performances in which she worked rapidly on cardboard and other supports, often applying acrylic paint directly with her fingers and palms.<\/span><\/p>

Her visual world combines childlike immediacy with sophisticated control of colour and rhythm. Figures appear to emerge from and dissolve back into painterly space, creating a tension between representation and abstraction. Although her imagery can appear playful, the strongest works possess a distinctive physical intensity generated by repeated layers, smears and gestures.<\/span><\/p>

Rokkaku has exhibited internationally across Europe and Asia and has developed a substantial collector base.
